Experience cultural diversity in a small town setting. Scandinavian, German, Icelandic, French, and Native American cultures influenced our small town villages. Join our cultural rendezvous in Langdon as we learn how geography affects culture in rural North Dakota and Southern Canada. A one-day field trip will include the Pembina Gorge and surrounding area. The keynote speaker will be Danny Edelson who is the National Geographic vice president for Education and Children’s Programs and executive director of the Society’s Education Foundation. This institute will offer many opportunities to explore and appreciate more fully the unique character and qualities of the cultures present in a small town along an international border. Culture doesn’t end at a border.
