Leading for Learning

Assessment Conference (See flyer below)

Presented by: Peg Portscheller, President of Portscheller & Associates
When: September 11, 2008
Where: Dickinson State University Student Center

Sponsored by Roughrider Educational Services Program and Dickinson State University

Join superintendents, principals, and teacher leaders as they continue to explore the role of effective assessment for effective learning. This conference builds on the work from the RESP/DSU January in-service and the North Dakota Curriculum Initiative session in April.
Peg Portscheller will address these questions:
• What is the leader’s role in assessment?
• How do we know we are effectively teaching “the right stuff?”
• How do we know if students are learning?
• What should effective assessment look like?
• What does research say about the importance of feedback in learning?
• How do grading practices and policies fit in with learning?

How do we know if students are learning?
This conference can help your school meet AYP!

Session held at the Dickinson State University Student Center, 8:00-4:00 MT
