Traveling Charter Bus Tour in the southeast corner of the state sponsored by the ND Geographic Alliance and the ND Forest Service. This broad-learning experience covers four days in the southeast quadrant of the state and one evening meal in North Dakota’s only yurt. The workshop will begin in Valley City with the basics of how geology changed the geography of the state, resulting in the different kinds of native forest resources and their locations. Participants will travel the Scenic Byway in the Sheyenne River Valley, visit North Dakota’s only waterfall in the State Forest, visit the Sheyenne Grasslands, learn about windbreaks and riparian forests in Wahpeton, community forestry and forest health in Fargo, and tree research at Absaraka.
