Biography

Hamline University, 1973, BS with honor, plus Honors in Psychology, majors Elem. Ed. and Psychology. Minnesota State University Moorhead, 1999, MA, 4.0 GPA, K-12 Curriculum and Instruction. 27 years teaching experience, grades 1, 3, 6, 7, 8 and Reading Recovery. Five years as Language Arts Specialist for Fargo Public schools, working with balanced literacy, curriculum issues, assessment, and professional development. Currently, I am a Reading Intervention Specialist, working with at-risk middle level students.  I have been trained as a trainer in Six-Traits Writing as well as Guided Reading instruction. I have written ELA standards at the state and local level. I have taught continuing education courses through NDSU for teachers in Fargo and the surrounding Cass County area. For several years, I have taught EECE 375, Contemporary Methods in Early Childhood Literacy Instruction at MSUM, fall and spring. I taught summer school art classes in Forest Lake, MN, and I worked briefly as a per diem consultant for SRA-McGraw Hill.
