Dr. Tanna M Kincaid, Grants Director
Biography
Dr. Tanna Kincaid is the Director of the North Dakota Teaching with Technology Initiative (TWTi) and was primarily responsible for the development of the original 1998 grant proposal. TWT is a state-wide initiative funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Technology Innovation Challenge Grant Program. The original award was over $7.3 million. Throughout the course of TWTi, Dr. Kincaid has developed curriculum, facilitated both face-to-face and online professional development, and conducted research on the factors influencing effective technology integration. Over 9,000 North Dakota teachers and administrators participated in TWTi, working on increasing their competency with regard to National Educational Technology Standards. Kincaid is sought as an advisor on many state committees. She has presented at both state and national conferences. Prior to working for TWTi, Dr. Kincaid was the Supervisor for Information Technology at the North Dakota State Department for Career and Technology Education. As the North Dakota Teaching with Technology Initiative enters the final year, Dr. Kincaid splits her time between directing TWT and directing a newly funded National Science Foundation (NSF) project focusing on engineering technology pathways for students. Dr. Kincaid is an adjunct professor for several colleges, teaching instructional design and technology courses within teacher education programs. Dr. Kincaid received her Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation at Syracuse University.
