I want my students to relate their enjoyment of listening to a story to their writing. I want my students to think about writing about a subject, such as a whale, to their writing and by doing this will make the writing process more enjoyable.
I also want my students to appreciate the scope of the gray whale and its importance to the ecosystem of the oceans. I also want my students to retain information regarding facts related to the gray whale.
